EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

There are various individuals and companies you can contact in the event of an emergency. Below are details of the various parties together with telephone numbers and some additional information. You as the affected party will need to determine whether your situation requires an immediate response or if it is something which can be dealt with during normal working hours. This information is intended to make it easier and more convenient for you to obtain the required assistance.

During normal working hours, 8:30 to 18:00 hours, you should contact your Caretaker, Mr D Goddard. His telephone numbers are

Mr Goddard is obliged to be available to deal with out of hours emergencies but there will be occasions when you may not be able to make contact with him.

After 1800 hours, you may contact the Caretaker but you also have the opportunity of contacting Security. You can

Wood Group run an out of hours emergency assistance scheme and contact can be made by dialling 0800 6527163. You will need to consider who might be responsible for costs incurred as a result of the emergency attendance of a contractor, eg. repairs to a leak from an individual flats pipe work will be the owners responsibility but an item of a communal nature will be maintenance fund.

Below are procedures for specific emergencies

GAS

If you think you can smell gas
- do not turn electric switches on or off
- do not smoke
- do not use naked flames
- do try to turn off the gas supply at the meter
- do open doors and windows to get rid of gas
- call 0800 111 999

WATER

If you do not have any water

- check the various stopcocks within your flat to ensure these are fully open
- telephone Thames Water 0845 920 0800 (24-hour) who will advise whether this a problem in the local area

If you have a leak coming from the property upstairs

- try to raise someone at the flat so they can take the necessary action to curb the flow
- contact Danny Goddard or Security
- if you are unable to contact any of the above and the water presents a hazard, ie possibility of coming into contact with electrics, contact the Fire Brigade 999 - who will force entry to the property
